Rai

India

Rai’s work, including images, text, and installations, explores states of inconsistency and suspension within themes of spatial negotiations, permeability, impression and erasure, recollection and amnesia. She often integrates found materials, weathering, and elements of fiction, intertwining research with personal experiences to reflect on the changing conditions of the spaces or passages she inhabits. Her recent work revolves around estuarine geographies to consider an amphibious perspective and its possibilities, resonating with ambiguity, fluidity, and mutation.

Rai is an alumna of Kala Bhavana, Santi Niketan, and the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. She currently lives in Goa.
