Deena Pindoria

India

Deena is a Baroda-based contemporary artist known for her research-led approach to printmaking and textile. Born in Kutch, Gujarat, in 1991, she completed her Post-Diploma in Visual Arts, specializing in Printmaking, from the Faculty of Fine Arts, MSU Baroda, in 2023. Her work weaves together her personal experiences, feelings, oral histories, community narratives, and traditional craft practices, often engaging with themes of gender, identity, and resilience. Notable exhibitions include Shifting Identities at Arthshila Santiniketan, Unseen Shadow at Exhibit 320, New Delhi, and Mindecho at Chemould Colab, Mumbai. Deena’s work has been featured in India Art Fair, Art Dubai, and Art Brussels. She is an award winnerof the Space118 Fine Art Grant and the Kala Sakshi Art Scholarship. Her contributions to contemporary craft discourse have been shaped through residencies at Khoj-Arthshila Bihar and Sandarbh, Rajasthan, and Space studio, Baroda. Currently, Deena continues to explore intersections of traditional techniques and contemporary expression, with a focus on gendered textile Ajrakh, natural dyes, and collaborations.
