Manish Harijan

Nepal

Manish Harijan (b. 1985) is a visual artist based in the UK. He completed his Master’s from Sheffield Hallam University, Sheffield, UK in 2019. His works have been a part of several exhibitions including Where do we draw the line?, Yorkshire Art Space Gallery, Sheffield, UK (2022), Government Art Collection display, London, UK (2020), Nepal Art Now,Welt Museum Vienna, Austria (2019), World Conference of Statelessness, Museum of Communication, Hague, Netherlands (2019) and How far to Stretch, Bloc Projects, Sheffield,UK (2019) to name a few.

Harijan’s practice questions the injustices inflicted upon minorities and the lived experiences of vulnerable populations in all societies around the world. Influenced by his personal experiences of being a Dalit, his work explores social issues of caste discrimination, a system that affects an estimated 260 million people worldwide.
